DISERTASI: KORELASI METODE KRITIK MATAN DENGAN METODE PEMAHAMAN HADIS (Studi Konsep Ikhtilâf Al-Hadîts Imam Syafi’i)

The study was aimed at finding out the correlation between the methods of critical and understanding hadith which became the conclusive basic form of a more comprehensive understanding by presenting the actual concept of hadith deviation, and analyzing them into a conception offer of methods of critical and understanding the hadith based on the ideas of Imam Shafi’i in his book ikhtilâf al-hadîs, as well as the significance appeared in accordance with the understanding of hadith and ushul scholars.
The study was related to the hadith deviation elaborated with ulumul hadith and procedurally applied on the study of hadith between sanad critic, matan critic, and its method of understanding. This research was qualitative research, in the form of a character study focused on library research to reveal the correlation between the methods of critical and understanding hadith by presenting examples of hadith to be studied from the book of hadith deviation, and compared them with the hadith from other sources, which was analyzed using a particular approach, namely; chronological approach or asbâb al-wurûd, rationalistic, holistic, and interpretive approaches, as well as common approaches such as anthropology and sociology.
The study revealed that there was a correlation between methods of critical and understanding the hadith within the framework of the hadith deviation concept, which was realized with the terms and conditions did not conflict with the Qur'an and mutawâtir hadith indicated as follows, namely: a) Hadith contained aqidah or belief in doing muamalah at social institutions as well as the activities of the implementation of legal decisions was also applied, therefore the hadith critical activity with the method of understanding hadith should be conducted, such as hadith on Corpses Tortured because of the family’s mourning; b) Hadith contained of deed worship, society and all legal decisions, sanad criticism preference was a problem that must be put in a priority such as hadith on Women as Prayer’s Leaders; and c) Hadith identified as disputed had controversial meanings and in the form of applicative implementation lead to a different understanding, thus the critical activities of matan hadith using the method of understanding hadith should become the first priority, such as hadith on Water from Water (Intercourse). The hadith that had been established with the sahih level of validity related to hadith ikhtilaf became the important requirement in determining each of legal decisions. The study implications provided a significant influence on the understanding the hadith (fiqh al-hadits) to strengthen the determination of the hadith validity level into arguments.
